Levels, Age Divisions,& Disciplines

Our levels, divisions, and registration guidelines are carefully crafted to ensure a rewarding, educational experience that fosters growth and inspires motivation. We strive to maintain the highest standards of integrity and fairness, operating under the principle, “What applies to one, applies to all.”

We’ve created levels to support continuous, healthy growth by grouping dancers based on comparable skill levels. When registering, studios must assign a level to each dancer that will apply to all disciplines. We recognize that every dancer’s journey is unique and encourage studios to contact us if they need assistance with dancers who don’t fit the level descriptions below.

Age Divisions:

Dancers in this division may compete in up to 4 routines and train a maximum of 4 hours per week.

The Top 5 Highest Scoring Pre-Competitive Division entries will be recognized separately. The pre-competitive division entries are not eligible for Overall High Score Awards or the Coastal dance-off.

If a routine includes Advanced dancers, even if more than 50% of the dancers are in the Pre-Competitive Division, the routine will be moved to the Competitive Division.

Competitive~

The Competitive Division is for dancers who train up to 8 hours per week. Dancers in this division can compete in up to 8 routines.

All entries in the Competitive Division are eligible for Overall High Score Awards and the Coastal dance-off.

Advanced~

The Advanced Division is for dancers who train more than 8 hours per week. Dancers in this division may compete in unlimited routines. All entries in the advanced Division are eligible for Overall High Score Awards and the Coastal dance-off.

Just for fun~

The Just for Fun Division is designed specifically for adult dancers aged 19 and older who wish to enjoy the art of dance in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. This division is perfect for individuals who want to perform without the pressure of competition, focusing instead on having fun and expressing themselves through dance.

Dancers in this division may compete in up to 4 routines and can train a maximum of 4 hours per week. While the emphasis is on enjoyment and personal expression, routines will still be showcased on stage in front of an audience. Just for Fun Division entries are not eligible for Overall High Score Awards or the Coastal dance-off.
